America was shaken by firing 30 killed in two incidents 40 injured
Houston, Pret. Plagued by gun culture, America is once again the victim of firing. People are terrified by the death of 30 people in two separate incidents of firing within 24 hours.
In both the events in Texas and Ohio, each gunman targeted people by indiscriminately firing gunshots. Of these, the incident in Texas is considered a case of hate crime.
The first incident is from the town of El Paso, Texas. Firing took place in a store of retail chain Walmart here. The attack took place on Saturday morning when there was a crowd of buyers.
Most of the people were engaged in buying school essentials for children. Suddenly a gunman entered the store and started firing indiscriminately. In a few moments, there was visible smoke and blood-soaked bodies.
The attack killed 20 people, while 26 others were injured. Some of the injured are being conditionally told.
Mexico’s Foreign Minister Marcello Abrad said that six Mexican nationals were among the injured. US attorney John Bash said that federal officials are treating this matter as local terrorism.
In this case, steps will be taken, just as steps are taken in case of terrorists. Suspected assailant Patrick Krusius (21) is located in Dallas, hundreds of kilometers away from the scene.
A similar case arose in Ohio just hours after the Texas attack. Here, an attacker opened fire at the bar located in the Dayton area on the intervening night of Saturday-Sunday.
Nine died in the firing and 16 people were injured. The Mayor of Dayton said the number of wounded was more than two dozen. The attacker was also killed in police retaliation here.
The Federal Investigation Agency (FBI) is also cooperating with the police to identify the suspected attacker.
Police officer Lt. Col. Matt Carper said, ‘This is a very sad incident. Investigations are being carried out to ascertain the identity and intent of the attacker.
