After the World Cup defeat, Kohli will have to face the challenge of ‘Challenge’

After being out in the semi-finals of the World Cup, the tour of the West Indies will be crucial for the Indian cricket team’s captain Virat Kohli and Ravi Shastri. Even though the team’s performance in only one match of the tournament has been poor, but Shastri’s contract is about to end, and the team’s performance on the upcoming tour will be very important. The West Indies tour will begin on August 3. Team selection for this will be done on July 21.

Captain Virat Kohli has decided to keep himself available for the limited-overs series in the West Indies tour. On the tour of India, the Indian team will play three T20 and three ODIs from August 3 to 14. The team will also start their Test Championship with a series of two Test matches.

Under the guidance of Shastri, the team has performed well in Australia, England, and South Africa, but the Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) appointed by the Governing Council (COA) is accepting new applications for the post of coach.

Speaking to IANS, an official of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) said that applications for the main coach and sports staff have been invited, while the team management will have to present a report on the exit of India from the World Cup.

The official said, “Not only should the manager be asked for a report from every coach. Physio and trainer should also be asked to submit their report. The report will be necessary to know what was the episode of Vijay Shankar’s injury.

He said, “The batting coach (Sanjay Bangar) should answer the question of number four because it is clear that the team management was only asking which players to be included. He will also have to tell whether he had learned about Shankar’s injury.

Kohli’s opinion was taken when Shastri was the last coach, but this time it is not expected to happen.
