There has been a digital strike on China once again by the Indian government. This time India has decided to ban 43 Chinese mobile apps. This may cause considerable damage to the Chinese retail business. In fact, four of the 43 banned Chinese apps are linked to the Alibaba Group’s retail business.
What was the reason for the app ban
The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) has been directed to ban 43 Chinese apps in India by issuing an order under section 69A of the Information Technology Act. The Government of India has decided to ban 43 Chinese apps in view of the threat to the security, integrity and sovereignty of the country. The decision of the Chinese apps ban has been taken on the basis of the report of the Ministry of Home Affairs and Cybercrime Coordination Center.
