29 killed, 61 injured in terrorist attack in Kabul; Taliban may occupy power

Despite the peace agreement between the Taliban and the US, the terrorist attacks in Afghanistan have not stopped. A major terrorist attack took place in the capital of Kabul on Friday.

The Shia community in Kabul has suffered the biggest attack since the recent agreement between the US and the Taliban to restore peace in Afghanistan. It killed 32 people and injured 81 people. The police have killed both the attackers. Officials gave this information. The Islamic State group claimed responsibility for the attack. The terrorist organization of the Islamic State group in Afghanistan has declared war on Shia Muslims on its website. Also killed in this attack are mostly Shias, who had gathered to celebrate the death anniversary of Abdul Ali Mazari, leader of the Kabilah Hazara community of Afghanistan.

Mazari was kidnapped in 1995 by the Taliban. Last year, Taliban attacked in a program organized on the death anniversary of Mazari, but this time the Taliban has denied involvement in this attack. Interior Ministry spokesman Nasrat Rahimi said the militants hiding in an under-construction apartment attacked. It killed 32 people and injured more than 81 people. The Health Ministry has also reported 32 people killed but 58 injured. The injured also include a journalist and a cameraman. In this attack, many leaders including Abdullah Abdullah, former Afghan foreign minister, and contestant against President Ashraf Ghani, were narrowly escaped.

Abdullah spokesman Friedun Kwajoon, who was present at the event, said the attack began with a rocket falling in that area. After that, the sound of fire was also heard. Witnesses said that security forces deployed for security at the event also opened fire on the crowd, killing and injuring several people. There was chaos after the attack.

Ghani calls attack against humanity

Afghan President Ashraf Ghani tweeted it as an attack against humanity and national unity. Gani said that he called Abdullah to know about his well being. After the 2014 elections, Abdullah worked as CEO in the Gani government.

America wants to withdraw its army from Afghanistan

An agreement was reached between the US and the Taliban last Saturday, according to which Washington would gradually withdraw its troops from Afghanistan. According to the agreement, Afghanistan will also stay away from such activities. But there are constant attacks after the agreement. A senior official of the Western Security Force said that it was too early to say anything about the attack, but security was beefed up at all entrances to Kabul.

Taliban can capture power: Trump

US President Donald Trump said on Friday that the Taliban could seize power there after the withdrawal of US troops from Afghanistan. Trump said in the White House that countries should take care of themselves. You can hold someone’s hand for so long. However, Trump also said that the Taliban is not expected to seize power, but it is possible.
