2021 Porsche 911 GT3 RS: Prices, Specs and release date

With the Porsche 911 GT3 already being a formidable track weapon, in true Porsche fashion searching for more performance and faster lap times, the 911 GT3 RS is on the cusp of being released.

  • The highlights of this beast of a machine
  • Race-focused body parts
  • An under 4 second time for 0-62mph
  • More than 510Hp
  • A huge rear wing inspired by the Porsche RSR

The selling point of this car is not its 0-60 time, its biggest strength is the amount of downforce it produces giving it relentless grip. The Porsche RS models are the biggest competition to the Mercedes AMG GT R Pro and the McLaren 600LT.

Engine and driving

The 2021 Porsche GT3 RS will be fitted with a naturally aspirated 4.0-litre flat-six engine and this masterpiece is a power block that doubles as an orchestra. It produces more than 510Hp and screams to 8800 Rpm with crackles and pops that will most certainly give you an eargasm.

It’ll be rear-wheel drive only and you’ll be able to choose between the PDK or a manual gearbox. Yes, you heard us right, manual gearbox it is.

The added aerodynamic parts will reduce top-end speed but because it is light, the 0-60 Mph should be impressive.

But all driving enthusiasts will be interested in the lap times it puts down. This car is meant to be on the trip, after all, it’s a purebred Porsche. For the record, the 911 GT3 weighs just 1,418kg in manual (1,435kg for the automatic), and you can expect that figure to drop in the RS version thanks to extensive weight-saving measures.

Minimalistic interior and non-existing comfort!

This car being a race-bred car doesn’t really bother for comfort or interior design. It is expected to be minimalistic with bucket seats and basic features, this is being done in order to shed weight.

A six-point harness and an anti-roll cage will come as standard

Release date and expected price

The new GT3 RS will be priced from approximately £140,000, but add a few bells and whistles – such as fancier interior trim, upgraded carbon-ceramic brakes, and a sports exhaust – and you may need to hand over around £160,000.
